Webb Black Simmental and Sim Angus bulls are fully performance recorded, independently structurally assessed, tested free of pestivirus and fully vaccinated.
Buyers can choose from a large selection of grade-up and purebred black, polled bulls bred using elite genetics from the Black Simmental and Angus breeds. A selection of elite females is also available annually.

Webb Black bulls offer calving ease, docility and high growth rates in a moderate frame packed with muscle and adequate fat cover.
Bulls are sold with complete objective and performance data, including liveweight, scrotal circumference, American purebred and hybrid Simmental EPDs and percentile bands.
All bulls are DNA tested for parentage and coat colour.
Commercial clients have found Webb Black progeny to be consistently structurally sound, docile, soft skinned, functional and producing a high yielding carcass with a large eye muscle area across grass and grain markets.
Using hybrid vigour in crossbreeding
Profit driven beef producers with British bred or Bos indicus females can add to their bottom line by utilizing the heterosis, or hybrid vigour, provided by Webb Black bulls in easy-to-manage crossbreeding systems.
In complementary breeds, heterosis delivers an animal with the potential for high growth and weight gain.
The spring-calving Webb Black cowherd is run under commercial conditions, with females calving over 10 weeks. The stud has an extensive embryo transfer program in place using elite imported and Australian genetics.
Maiden heifers have recorded conceptions rates to AI sires of 75 per cent. The average birthweight in the herd is 35kg.
A stringent selection criteria has resulted in a maternal powerhouse exhibiting feminity, high fertility, calving ease, milk, longevity, feed efficiency and high cow-calf weaning ratios.
Environmental adaptability is a key trait of the Simmental, enabling Webb Black bulls to be sold into northern British breed and Bos indicus cow herds.
Strict health protocols
Webb Black Simmentals adheres to a strict health protocol. This ensures sale animals will not introduce preventable reproductive diseases into a client’s herd.
Each animal (bull or heifer) has been tested to show they are not pestivirus (or Bovine Viral Diarrhoea ) Persistently Infected (PI) animals.
They are vaccinated against BVDV to ensure they are protected to the effects of this infection, and against vibriosis, a sexually transmitted cattle disease.
Bulls are vaccinated against leptospirosis, a potential reproductive risk in beef herds and OH&S risk to cattle handlers.
They are given two vaccinations to ensure they have immunity established before leaving the premises.
Cattle at Webb Black Simmentals have been randomly tested for selenium levels and have been treated prior to joining with selpour selenium pour on.

Each year, Webb Black participates in the Victorian Beef Week fields and holds an open day, with paddock sales available all year round. Commercial cattle, including joined and unjoined F1 females, are for sale throughout the year.
